CUSEF leadership conducts high-level dialogues with American policymakers, industry elites, and academics during their visits to the U.S. to gain firsthand insights into American governance and bilateral relations, deepen mutual understanding, bridge cultural gaps, and strengthen the people-to-people bonds.

CUSEF actively facilitates exchanges with U.S. state leaders. Through visits to China, U.S. governors and state legislators meet with Chinese officials and experts for candid discussions on issues of shared interest, fostering greater mutual understanding between the two countries.

Since its initiation in 2009, the media exchange program has brought American journalists to mainland China to meet with Chinese officials, business leaders, and experts. These visits have provided journalists with first-hand exposure to China’s development, opportunities, and challenges. The journalists were from U.S. mainstream media outlets such as The Economist, National Public Radio, the Atlantic Magazine, Bloomberg, Washington Post, Time Magazine, Chicago Tribune, among others.
